Moving Flashback

Well, we couldn't really think of anything to update on just yet...so I remembered in a previous post I mentioned I would explain why we moved from the first apartment.

We moved in to our apartment on a Friday night, and the next day we noticed a funny smell coming out of the kitchen. Well, after a few more days we realized that smell was a cigarette smoke smell. Our apartment had just been renovated, so when we moved in, you could barely smell it. After several days, though, it was coming through VERY strong! We told the apt. manager immediately and they sent people out to try and patch up pipes, clean out the air ducts, etc.

Well...none of that worked, and so the fight began. We got into a LONG drawn out process with our apt. management about needing to move out of our apartment. Our clothes were beginning to smell like smoke, and it was almost unbearable to live there! At first they told us they wouldn't have an apartment for us for at least another month and a half. We told them that wouldn't work and we needed to move out immediately. We even began to look at other apt. complexes hoping for some kind of miracle to happen. It was very stressful...but after about 2 weeks of all that mess, we were able to move into another apartment in the next building. A woman had moved out without notice, so we were able to get that apt. without having to pay a dime. So it all worked out in our favor, and the Lord blessed us in ways we didn't deserve! Glad it's all over!

So that was the reason behind our move, and I am happy to say we have not experienced the cigarette smoke smell since:)
