While the new student waited in my classroom, I stopped my other kids in the hallway and gave them a speech about being nice, helpful, etc.
Student: What's his name?
Me: Clifford
Student: Hm. Like the big red dog?
Me: Yes
Student: (after a few moments in deep thought) Is he a dog?
